Welcome to Cedar & Bones!

We are a Montessori & Reggio-inspired outdoor preschool and art studio in NW Portland for children ages 3-5.

Our days are spent exploring outdoors in all seasons, making art, solving problems, building friendships, and developing confidence through movement, curiosity, creativity, and play.

Daily Rhythm

Our days are spent outdoors and follow a steady rhythm while leaving room for weather, seasons, wildlife, and children’s interests.

  • 9am Arrival

  • Free play

  • Morning circle

  • Snack & bathroom

  • Forest exploration, hikes, and art projects

  • Rotation: Creative play / gardening / handwork / crafting / building

  • Lunch together

  • Hammocks, rest, and quiet observation

  • Closing circle & bathroom

  • 1pm Pick-up

Program Details

  • Ages 3–5 (toilet-trained)

  • 4 days Monday–Thursday, 4 hours 9am–1pm Please ask about extended hours

  • Located in the forested hills of Northwest Portland near NW Thompson Rd & Skyline Blvd.

  • Founding Family tuition for the 2026–27 school year is $950/month
